Davis Technical College

The schematic design of this 85,000 square foot facility was a response to meet the demands
of a growing allied health program at the Davis Technical College. The program primarily
consists of a state of the art nurse training program, among certified courses in emergency
medical technology, pharmacy technology and dental assistant technology.

The site is located on a prominent parcel of land that marks the processional entry which leads
to the heart of campus. The building design is intended to communicate a higher education
institution, while maintaining an approachable and welcoming environment to a diverse
student population. Large spans of glass let in dramatic mountain views and daylight to many
interior spaces which house study areas, common areas and the building’s main circulation
space.

Method Studio worked in partnership with the steering committee to identify issues and
strategic goals for the project in order to generate key design concept drivers. Method Studio
then created a schematic program, plans, architectural renderings, and a comprehensive
booklet which was tailored to engage potential project sponsors.
