Welcoming a people-first Principal to support the growth of our healthcare sector.
Method Studio is pleased to welcome Ray Bernier as our newest Principal, where his primary focus will be advancing our healthcare work in close collaboration with the Healthcare Team, alongside contributions to select higher education initiatives. Ray returns to the architecture world with decades of experience and a deeply people-centered perspective shaped by both architectural and owner-side leadership.
Throughout his career, Ray has led and contributed to healthcare projects for Primary Children’s Hospital, Intermountain Health, and the University of Utah, experiences that deeply influenced how he approaches design. One moment in particular continues to guide his work:
“At Primary Children’s, a sign on the doors read ‘Child First and Always.’ Everyone lived by it. When I moved to BYU, that idea became ‘Students First and Always.’ That mindset has guided my work ever since.”
Ray joins Method Studio at a pivotal moment, as our healthcare sector continues to grow. As a Principal, he will work closely with our Healthcare Team to help expand Method’s involvement in meaningful healthcare projects across Utah and beyond. His extensive background strengthens our ability to serve healthcare clients with rigor, care, and precision, while reinforcing the collaborative, people-first approach that defines our practice.
Throughout his career, Ray has worked closely with organizations including Intermountain Health, the University of Utah, Primary Children’s Medical Center, and BYU. The long-standing relationships he has built with these institutions reflect a shared commitment to excellence, integrity, and collaboration, values that align closely with Method Studio’s culture and our long-term approach to client partnerships.
Collaboration has always been central to Ray’s leadership style. He values open conversation, positive reinforcement, and mutual respect as essential components of successful teams. For Ray, trust and care among colleagues create the foundation for meaningful collaboration.
Looking ahead, Ray’s focus will be on supporting the continued growth of Method Studio’s healthcare sector, strengthening client relationships, guiding teams through complex healthcare projects, and helping position the firm for long-term success in this space.
Ray’s leadership experience, combined with his collaborative mindset and commitment to design excellence, will be an asset to our teams and our clients alike. His ability to listen, mentor, and elevate the people around him reflects the culture we’ve worked hard to build at Method, one rooted in trust, rigor, authenticity, and balance.
As we continue to grow, we are excited to welcome Ray to the Method Studio team and look forward to the insight, leadership, and humanity he brings to our growing healthcare sector.
