The Antelope Island Visitors Center Remodel and Addition Project (AIVC) is located on an approximately 3 acre site on the northwestern portion of Antelope Island. Currently, the existing visitors center is a 5,500 gsf structure with an adjacent amphitheater and nearby outbuildings for utility functions. The site also maintains parking for approximately 63-65 vehicles at any given time and various pedestrian paths around the building and site.
The proposed project is for the construction of approximately 33,000 combined square feet of expanded visitor center spaces, including common area amenities such as education and research spaces, exhibit, event, gift/food support, work rooms, administrative, public restroom, premium large format theater, and additional support spaces. The building will also contain administration offices, administrative support spaces, multipurpose space, media room, and associated function space. The department driving the program spaces for this project is the Department of Natural Resources and the Parks and Recreation Department on the Island.
