MISSISSIPPI FORESTRY ASSOCIATION CENTER
The Mississippi Forestry Association (MFA) Forestry Center will be a 7,500 square foot (approximate) state-of-the-art building that will serve as the headquarters for MFA. It will be a mass timber demonstration building, featuring the use of engineered wood products – in particular, Cross Laminated Timber (CLT).
Primary access to the Fannye Cook Natural Area will be from Liberty Road. Several structures are planned at the entry to the area – Visitor Center, Pavilion with a comfort station, Amphitheater, Conference Center, Arts Center, Field Lab and Museum of American and African Wildlife, and the MFA Forestry Center. A man-made natural-edged lake will be constructed to the west of the project. Several guest cottages will be developed around the perimeter of the lake. Gravel parking will be provided throughout the development.
