UVU Pedestrian Bridge

UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY pedestrian bridge

The UVU pedestrian bridge is the largest in the state and provides a vital connection over I-15 and numerous railroad tracks from the UTA Intermodal Center to the UVU campus for thousands of students. The pedestrian bridge will make transit, biking, and walking much more appealing to University students, staff and visitors while improving the integrated transportation system in central Utah County. This project was a collaboration with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Utah Transit Authority (UTA), and Utah Valley University (UVU). This project removes significant pedestrian traffic from the I-15 Interchange at University Parkway, improving safety and decreasing congestion. It also facilitates access to UVU from the Frontrunner commuter train. The Design team delivered a full-service design to the three key clients of UDOT, UVU, and UTA. The City of Orem, the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) were other key stakeholders in the concept, study, design, and construction phases of the bridge.
